Once again we were up early for a 5:00 pick up by motor coach at a neighboring hotel.
Field of Light (2016, by Bruce Munro) is a site-specific solar-powered installation using light on a monumental scale featuring 50,000 color-changing glowing spheres on fiber optic stems (KSS) |
We had time to walk among the lights, which cover seven football fields |
Our guide used two cameras (one as a spotlight) to take our photo (thank you, Alex!) |
| The lights were constantly changing color |
Coffee, tea and hot chocolate were provided, with biscuits/cookies |
| We waited for the sun to rise over the Field of Light... (KSS) |
| ...and over Uluṟu |
We turned around to zoom in on the sun lighting up Kata Tjuṯa, the third of the monoliths |
| Here comes the sun |
| Kent and Tamiko with Uluṟu |

We returned to the Lost Camel hotel to check out.
Phantom power (where devices consume electricity when still plugged in, but are turned "off") is prevented by these electrical outlets that can be turned off... |
| ...and on, individually |
Ayers Rock Resort in Yulara has a free shuttle bus, so we took a ride.
Stopped at the Uluṟu Camel Farm (est 1998), the largest camel farm in Australia; we did not come to ride a camel... |
